Meet LAURIE

Growing up in a small, rural, farming community in the Midwest, I was exposed to the country life, the Christian faith, a strong work ethic, family values and the Minnesota Vikings.  All of these things, many decades later,  still remain a  part of who I am.  

I have been blessed with two children, both of whom are now young adults.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking, baking and going for walks.  I also have a love for Jesus, country music, simplicity and helping others in need.

 I've managed to live in 6 different states and 17 different houses since those farming days, including my current residency in Oregon.  Needless to say, with multiple moves,  comes multiple losses.  For anyone who has moved, you know there is more involved then simply a change of a house and scenery.    

At various stages of my life,  I have experienced the loss of self, security, safety, trust and dreams.  I have also known the personal loss of loved ones and pets to death, the loss of health, finances , relationships, friendships, and a marriage.  I can relate and empathize with living in a state of complex grief and merely longing for a reprieve.  I can also confidently attest, that amidst the deep pain of grief and loss, there is hope and healing on the horizon!

I am a Christian LCSW, Grief Recovery Methods Specialist and a Board Certified Mental Health Coach.  I specialize in helping individuals through the vast emotions of grief and loss, whether the death of a loved one, the ending of a relationship, or other significant life transitions.  I conduct  grief counseling and The Grief Recovery Method® program online.   I also provide local, in-person companion care services, bringing 20+ years of compassionate, professional social work experience to my visits.
