As a Christian mental health coach, unlike a therapist, I do not diagnose or treat mental health disorders. Mental health, however, should not be a topic only discussed by therapists and clients with a DSM-5-TR mental health diagnosis. Our mental health impacts our every day lives, including our thought patterns, behaviors, moods, habits, physical health and relationships. It also has an effect on how we view and treat God, ourselves and others. It is my desire to help equip individuals to experience personal transformation in their mental, emotional and relationship health. To bridge the gap between faith and psychology and offer a biblically grounded and scientifically informed approach to mental well-being.
Mental health coaching is a process where a trained professional helps you manage emotions, address your way of approaching problems, develop coping strategies, improve relational health and skills, reduce stress and anxiety - all of which bolster mental health and create healthier habits for life's challenges.
The focus of mental health coaching is on non-clinical areas like stress, loss, burnout, relationships, and self-awareness. Within coaching sessions, I apply techniques from neuro-science, mindfulness, evidence-based approaches and therapies to help clients achieve well-being and improve daily functioning. When appropriate, Scripture and prayer will also be incorporated into our sessions.
